Abstract

Under Spanish legislation, there is freedom to establish marriage articles. This freedom refers not only to potential spouses' liberty to choose or configure their marriage articles to their liking, but also to the possibility of changing their marriage articles after their marriage has begun. On the basis of this principle, if no marriage articles are established or the established marriage articles become void, joint ownership will take over as the default system.
