Abstract

Although the debts owed by private borrowers may have a certain degree of independence from one another, they nevertheless are linked to one another through their identity of purpose. That purpose is none other than the common purpose of satisfying the lender's interest, and this happens when there is a legal community of objectives binding the loans of the various borrowers, because there is an intimate connection amongst those loans. Its attendant existence may be proved by the background facts denoting that the economic result in question was really desired by the parties concerned.
