Abstract

Certain untrue information was broadcast by a television station about the risks of eating a type of candy inaccurately cited by the station as being responsible for the death of a child. This gave rise to a payment for damages. On the basis of this case, the paper analyses the difficulty of making payment for some types of damage. The paper specifically focuses on the problem of assessing indirect damage and loss of profits.
