Abstract

When a journalist publishes or disseminates news, data and reports that may be termed «neutral reporting», the journalist's liability is contained or may even be eliminated altogether. That is why it is so important to discern when reporting is truly neutral. This commentary focuses on analysing in detail the requirements that must be met for reporting to be considered neutral and the differences between neutral reporting and investigative reporting.
