There is a special relationship between Spanish civil law and canon law, which is inserted within civil law, as statutory law. Because of this special relationship, when titles containing acts disposing of church-owned real property are submitted for registration, the registrar's scrutiny of the title must take into account canon law's special requirements in order for such disposals to be valid. In other words, the scope of the scrutiny is wider.
