TEN-YEAR INSURANCE POLICY NEW CONSTRUCTIONAbstract
It is compulsory for a ten-year insurance policy to be taken to cover any new building intended for residential use. There is, however, one important exception, which is when the building is one single-family home built for the developer’s own use. This study takes a close look at each of the requirements set by legislation and the nuances added by registry jurisprudence concerning the exoneration of new buildings of this sort from the obligation to provide a ten-year insurance policy pursuant to section 19 of the Building Planning Act.
