MÁS ALLÁ DEL ACOGIMIENTO DE MENORES: INCAPACITADOS, TERCERA EDAD Y NASCITURUS.

Abstract

After twenty five years of existence in our legal system, the placement of minors specially in families of reception, has consolidated its position as the optimal mechanism to confront the need of protection of the minors who are in a precarious situation or experience effective desprotection. Therefore, it may seem appropriate to assess the extension of this mechanism, beyond the custody of minors, to other vulnerable groups, such as 1) persons with disabilities, who, except in Aragon, currently lack access to this tuitive mechanism; 2) the elderly, an increasingly populated group, whose case has been already tackled by Catalonia and Navarra; and 3) the nascituri.
