The new regulation of adoption in Spain: in the best interest of the child

Different legal reforms that took place in Spain during 2015, had, as one of its main objectives, the recognition of the best interest of the child in the protection system and particularly in the adoption regulations. This article analyzes the new framework, starting with the general principles, to follow with the new status of the three protagonists of the adoptive triangle: the child, the biological family and the adoptive family. Some considerations will be done, finally, concerning intercountry adoption.
