Abstract

Very recently it has been enacted the Marriage and Civil Sta- tus (Amendment no. 4) (Jersey) Law 2018, by which the legal recognition of the so called belief marriages has finally taken place in this particular Crown dependency, as such recognition had already taken place in most legal systems of the British Islands with the exception of those of England and Wales. This paper deals with the study of the main features of this new Law of the Baili- wick of Jersey.
