Abstract

In recent years, the search for alternative methods for financing, together with the boom in technology, has led to a huge increase in the popularity of online financing platforms, also known as FinTech. Within the framework of sharing economy, one of the disciplines that is gaining the most prominence is crowdlending. This paper walks the reader through the main forms of crowd financing through online platforms, studying crowdlending in detail. Specifically, the different modalities of crowdlending observed in practice will be presented, and the legal regime applicable to this discipline will be thoroughly analyzed, paying close attention to the latest updates introduced by Law 18/2022, of September 28, on the creation and development of companies.
