Abstract

An analysis is given of the possibility or impossibility of resuming a chain of title that has been interrupted by ownership proceedings filed by the successors or assigns of the registered owner. A review is given of case law on this subject, which is, in the main, contrary to admitting a mechanism of this type, and an examination is made of the requirements of the interrupted chain and the propriety of the ownership proceedings, which are in order only when such an interruption has really existed.
