LEVANTAMIENTO DEL VELO DE LAS PERSONAS JURÍDICAS.

Abstract

The Civil Code defines legal persons, irrespective of nature, as those collective beings that are recognised as having the capacity to hold a proprietary interest for the achievement of a lasting, permanent group purpose, analogous to the capacity individuals have. Because of the prevalence of legal personality, where use of the legal person becomes abuse, «tearing or lifting the veil» of the company is advocated in order to bring the legal person out of its protective isolation vis-à-vis its shareholders.
